This is darn good!
Measurements
- 1 Cup White Sugar – 250 ml
- 3 Tbsp. Butter – Room Temprature – 45 ml
- 1 Egg Beaten
- 1/2 Cup Cocoa – Fill with Boiling Water to Make 1 Cup of (250 ml) Liquid
- 1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda – 2 ml
- 1/2 Cup Boiling Water – 125 ml
- 1 Cup Flower – 250 ml
- 1 Tsp. Baking Powder – 5 ml
Steps
- Cream together sugar and butter.
- Add egg and cocoa liquid.
- Mix soda and boiling water.
- Add this, flour and baking powder – mix well.
- Pour into a greased 9″ (23 cm) square pan (the batter will be thin).
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 30 minutes, or until a thick toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
This Cake doubles well, bake in a 9 x 13″ (23 x 33 cm) pan or a bundt pan for 40 – 50 minutes.
